I think you're solution is very viable i...Andy,<br />I think you're solution is very viable indeed. Often times, I use my bench just fine without the vise being attached at all. The holdfast holes in the apron are capable of holding just about every kind of workpiece that one would hold in a tradtional vise. Everything that isn't possible to hold with the holdfasts int he apron canbe taken care of with a handscrew or two. The Moxon vise is basically a type of handscrew, so I think you'll be just fine with your approach. No additional work holding should be necessary beyond the stops and the Moxon vise.<br /><br />Looking forward to following your progress! We need more support for the English bench :)!
